This house has shifted furniture for the umpteenth time since the year 2005 has started. Right now, there's almost a million and one holes which are meant to be filled with cement for anybody who doesn't have anything to do at all.
Which somehow remeinds me of a kid whom I saw at the MRT station today while I was walking home with Boss, Kzk and The Autistic Kid. The kiddo was roughly around my hip level of height...maybe less than a metre. First odd thing that struck me was why he was standing behind the bicycles chained to the metal linkway pillars. The other reason was that another woman who I assume is his mother is standing in the sun about 3 metres away from the kiddo.
At first, I thought it was some kind of brawling where Junior will cry cos his mama didn't buy the latest Lego toy (oops! that's for MY age back then) or a Yakult drink that Junior saw at the news vendor stall. It's only when we walked past Junior and Mother that I heard what Junior was ranting in mandarin:
"YOU COME HERE!"
"I WANT YOU TO COME HERE RIGHT NOW!"
"RIGHT NOW, I SAY!"
And all this while, Mother was playng the cool by folding arms akimbo, tilting her head slightly to her right and in the left direction to stare at Junior.
Of course Your's Truely didn't stay to watch Mother and Junior slug it out to win. But it does make me wonder what has happened to the kids nowadays. You can't explain people like Anthony Mak. They either decide at this point in life if they want to be good to their parents, and end up as good sons who don't impregnate other parent's daughters, or the obvious --- put on thick makeup and lots of metals studs on everywhere else on their body and spray their manly liquid capable of making more human beings on everyone they could hold down long enough for the dick to rise.
Naturally, most of us are already past that stage of rebelling. If you're still in that stage, my one piece of advice is that you have to wait till you're my age (*reads 18 years going 19) that you'll understand the importance of parents not to be just there, but to be visible and heard so you won't get lost in this transition stage.
Junior. I have no idea what they planted in the formula milk powder. Grandma even suggested that it's kids who drink too much formula milk who are incredibly naughty. This was meant for Callista, whom she finds too much in a package to handle. But Now I'm beginning to see some truth in Grand's theory. Could you have imagined yourself at the young tender age of 3 that you'll scream at your parents like you last shouted at them for cleaning and displacing all the stuff in your room yesterday? To add insult to injury, it's at the MRT station!
If I have my say, Junior has no right to shout at me like that until the day he/she no longer needs my money to fund his college education or help him out in buying a new house or in finding a new job. Till then, he or she has to listen to what I say when I say if I say and if Junior behaves like that kid back at the MRT station, I'll cane him on the spot and lock him up in the storeroom when we get back.
