Got the pink IC last Friday and its been busy busy busy. Saturday was my cousins wedding, I'll see if I can post a couple of their photos up. Sunday mother came back after her long trip. All these days I was busy with game on the side, generally no energy to do anything else except sleep.
The feeling of back being a civilian hasn't hit me hard yet. Probably cos I was taking MCs for nearly 2 weeks prior to my ORD, I didn't feel a thing. Walking on the streets, I have to remind myself not to be paranoid of government spies, COS I HAVE MY FRIGGING PINK IC. SUCK MY @SS, BITCHES!
ORD day itself, I quickly finished the clearance, left only the chief clerk (I DON'T REPORT TO THE CHIEF CLERK FOR THE LAST FKING TIME, GET THAT IN YOU DIMWIT BRAIN), who was as usual busy with nothing, thus not in the admin office. I told myself, fuck it, its my ORD day, let the fella who called me handle it, and he was kind enough to do so.
Waited a bit for the si comd, (YOU REALLY TOOK YOUR OWN FUCKING SWEET TIME AT IT, BUSTER), finished some final rounds in office, the admin office fella called me back, saying si comd is ready to see us (me and this other bmtc-taurus fella) waited another bit for the fella to be ready while he checked his email, and I took the plague after he was done, and IC too. It was funny how he didn't hand me back my ic, and let somebody else do it.
Left the camp fastest time possible after that. And that's my ord. around 9.30am in the morning on 7th Mar 2008.

Good bye to the most horrible chapter of my life

I can't help but wonder, whatever happened to the garang soldier that was in me about 2 years back. Well, not exactly garang. Wayang, yes. Hehe. Everything we did, we did for the sake of doing, nt to get caught. Even the sergeants and officers I knew in BMT were like total drama actors.
Roll the time machine, 2 years onwards, I never knew I'd end up in as bad state as the worse ORD personel we all know of 2 years ago. Infact, I wind up spending more taking express MCs at the family clinic than my combat unit peers who "oor" offs like nobody's business. Not very cost effective, even if this means saving alot of trouble for myself and my colleagues who are taking attendance.
Anyways, 2 years on, I'm looking at 2 new 'pure' breed of soldiers, no longer the hybrid that we were. One, those that are so fucking garang, that they don't like wasting "office hours" on visiting their sick soldiers (just to name an example). These kind had been brainwashed, I suppose, by dunno-who. Perhaps its the lack of mentorship on their current job that they don't know which matters take priorities. Then again, its very very scarily coincidental that two of the same kind (namely ridiculously garang second lieutenants ) are posted to the same branch. The way I look at it, its only these 2 weird balls. Funny thing is, one of them aren't even combat fit (pfffttt....and he's telling us off on what to do and what not to). The others are completely bent on taking as much break time as possible.
Take a backseat, and a leaf or two from the old birds, little boys.
The other kind of pure breed as I briefly mentioned, are those who are hell-bent on taking as much breaks as possible, who don't give a shit about the 300 odd bucks the government is paying them monthly to do shit jobs. Not that these people shouldn't be doing whatever they are (don't shit with me, my line of 'paperwork' in the army ain't light duties any Tommy, Dicky or Hairy can complete in 2 hours) but sometimes 3-hour lunch breaks can't cut it as doing hard work. Fuck, dude, even if you don't want to work that day, don't make it tp-do to get caught point-blank for slacking. You go for 3-hours-break after the normal designated lunch-hour, and that leaves about an hour left before we knock off to come back to the air-conditioned office to masturbate? What the fuck, man.
Like I always said, my batch is probably the last ever batch that was the truly traditional good-soldiers our mummies and minister for defence would be proud of. We work hard, play hard, slack hard, rush so fast everywhere you'd be totally lost. We taught what we could, how to work efficiently, how to slack without them ever noticing. I think we'd all be good section leaders :)
And yes, weare were the soldiers of the SAF. Now that we are gone, good luck to the batches of newbies.
