I had a bit of sore throat when I woke up at 6 this morning. The alarm rang, if not I would have slept to 7. I did the usual routine to fo physio, blah blah blah. While doing the exercises, I thought over and over again how I'd hop over to the A&E department to get a half-day MC to rest. The throat had by then became an inflammation. Swallowed lots and lots of water as the cold air in the air conditioned gym room rushed down the throat, freezing the thorax.
It took a long time for me to even see a doctor in AH's A&E --- makes me wonder if someone who's on the verge of dying and still admitted into any hospital's A&E, if he'll make it out alive.
The doctor who attended to me was an old man --- well, more to high-middle age, someone who will look like my grandfather's long lost younger step-brother. He didn't waste much time on the courtesy sayings, instead point me to infront of him, which I took it as a sign to sit on the chair beside his desk.
I told him I've got a sore throat.
"You're in army now?"
"Yes."
"So you have to go back to camp later?"
"Ermm, yes."
What the fuck. I came to see you about my irritating throat, not to tell you my life story, so I stuck out my tongue to signal to him to look at my throat. Seems like it didn't work.
"Which camp are you at now?"
"St4gm0nt."
"That's strange. I had someone from St4gm0nt who also came out from physio --- exactly same case as you are."
"Huh?"
"A certain third sergeant...he's also from the same camp as you are."
"Izzit?" Curiosity propelled me to ask for him name. To my surprise, he really turned back to look for the bugger's name. Talk about patient confidentiality.
"Tan XXXXXXXX"
"Oh," I glanced down at the prescription and medical chit he had scribbled something on. Dammit, 2 days light duty. Like for fuck I need that 2 days light duty in an office-destinate work place. Too late anyways cos by then he signaled for me to move on.
There's definitely no other guy in the physio room who's from my camp. To that mofo who exhausted my excuse, AND YET DIDN'T GO FOR PHYSIOTHERAPY AT ALL, fuck you, asshole. Now its YOUR fucking fault I have my throat like Sahara Desert from since I was on the journey home.
After all these years, I did a mini self-evaluation with the conclusion: I'm still a sucker for pony tails.
Whenever I go out, either alone or with friends, it's always good advice anytime to open the eyes to look out for girls. I came realise after sometime, the particular presence of tube tops for girls. Like that skinny woman Michelle, very obviously she doesn't have enough meat to support the towel-like piece of clothing, and yet wears them for the occasional special outings.
I've heard some of the female friends comment that tube tops are hard to wear cos they keep slipping off. I CAN SEE THAT BY THE WAY YOU KEEP PULLING UP THAT TOWEL THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
Personally I think tube tops are not nice, whether you have boobs or flat like an airport runway. I can't really put my finger on why I don't like them. Maybe its too gaudy for my tastes. Maybe its the technique of revealing too much but too little. Alot of maybes, but bottom line is;
Tube tops are hideous. The fashion designer who came up with this concept obviously can't be bothered with the consequences of millions of anorexic poor skinny girls who cannot possible wear them in their entire teenage hood nor women hood.
However to give the designer credit, I have to say tube tops are good only for one purpose.
They can be real quick.
*winks*
Office Boss and 2ndBoss arrowed me to handle some stuff. Then Boss turned back and ask me
"And you know what this means right?"
Oh shit.

We had dinner a couple of weeks ago to celebrate the mother's birthday. Yar, so old already still celebrate. We good sons hor?!
The initial impression wasn't good, though. We were standing behind this small size fella while waiting to be seated at the Suntec branch. Apparently, the small fella looked like he was joining a table of friends. And this looking for his friends thingy needed 2 waitresses. Hello? Does this make sense at all? After he located his table, one of the waitresses proceeded to usher him into the restaurant, while the other saw me, but turned back and started walking towards the kitchen!
OMG.
I had to almost shout at her "excuse me" before she turned back, as if suddenly realizing our presence. Why? table for 3 is not good enough reason to dine here, izzzit?
Lucky for her, a different waiter gave much better service. All our food came promptly after we were finished with cam-whoring. He even offered to serve up extra sauces if we need them. But in the end the food was so good we didn't need any more (saved for the chili sauce for the fries).
yum yum!We were served this appetizer french loaf (baquat or something) which is quite good cos the inside of sufficiently warm, and outside hard for thsoe who like to chew.
Caesar Salad appetizer for mother's main course
mother'sI had the most fatty part of her steak --- made my jaw ached from the chewing. urgh
mineThe prawns tasted slightly drier than I'd like, but the ribs rocks my socks off.
brother'sThe steak was done just right, not too tough or bloody. The ribs....orgasmic. HAHAHA

According to urban legends, guai leng gou (crudely translated from Cantonese as Turtle Scale Cake), has quite a few poor chao turtles' shells grounded into powder, which is then added to the secret ingredient. Besides being a good snack for those who
are lazy to chew have no teeth, it also cools down the body effectively.
And this is the last packet of the powder I have at home, and its finished!
I'm gonna burn in this hot weather!
*wails*
Been lazy to blog of late, after hearing the horror stories that Mindef goes around sending bots on the Net, looking for keywords like 1aNc3r and what-fuck-not.
So from now on, have to approach with caution. No use barging head on with "Detention Barrack" in sight.
A bird flew into the house yesterday, could be a swallow or something. From the corner of my eye, I spotted something huge and black while I was cleaning the dishes after dinner. Could be that huge cikak I saw the night before for all I know.
Next thing I know when I stepped into the living room, a freaking bird was resting on the curtains. I'm not very good at welcoming beings of other species into my house, so I took a couple of pictures instead.
Huge moth
*gasp!* BIRD BIRD!While Mother was desperately trying to get rid of it with a foldable umbrella which I left to dry near the door, the bird flew round and round, always hovering near the ceiling. Stupid thing didn't know how to dip lower to fly through the open windows.
"nyek nyek nyek!" chirped the mocking birdAfter like 10 minutes of fuss, perching on LAN cables (I have one dangling to one of the bedrooms), power insulation cables albeit upside down perching, it flew through the kitchen windows instead.
Raining again, fuck. Thought the sun will hold up for a long time and make me the happiest person on earth, then it has to rain in the afternoon.
This week seemed to be the longest in my life. I had to travel, extend my range of exercises --- not complaining cos I know I'll be better at the end of the day. Sometimes I don't know even I'll get better at all. Normally people go through operations to get better. Mine worsened instead.
hur hur
There's a jerk at work, though I would rather treat this individual case like he's invisible. Every morning he'd step into the office in civilian clothes, then change into the uniform. Nothing to complain about so far. The trouble starts after he's finished changing.
The arse will fold his clothes (ok) then he'd spread out his bag and clothes all over the table. I mean, fuck, man, are your belongings the only one on the table? It is not so big after all, and since I'm now part of the office, I think you should give me some respect as someone who shares your table (now), put your clothes into or on your bag, and put it neatly into a corner, yes?
Oh hell no. He thinks he's the sole owner of the table still.
The other time we were having a mini general meeting, discussing who should be in which team. Apparently this fella was assigned the second team, but later pushed to the 1st team for the officer-in-charge's own reason. He looked up from his cubicle, gave the officer the blur look, stepped over and asked the most stupid question;
"Huh? I thought you said I was in team 2?"
The officer was pissed, giving a reply "Now I'm telling you you're in team 1!"
Luckily I'm not this fella's officer, if not, he's screwed.
By now, he should be a 4 month-soldier. Obviously the SAF 7 core values are not imbued into him yet. Just another fucking 4-month-old recruit if I have my words.
Sir was saying when he stepped into office after his lunch break. From the countless medicals and physiotherapies, no doubt camp is a hotel I'd rather not have a room at. Just this week, I'm spending more time on the mrt tracks to and fro than actually anywhere in Singapore.
The walk up the knoll to camp is no joke, especially in the hot afternoon sun. It doesn't help either that the incessant rain has stopped. Dark clouds hover over everywhere, except CCK, the next thing you know, Johor is being flooded.
Everyone's been asking me how is it back in camp. First day was bad, of course. I hate wearing my smart no.4 cos it absolutely sucks when its wet --- like when I'm fking hot, the sweat will make the heavy clothing cling onto the skin. Its a size too small, so I have to continue looking fit so the pot belly doesn't fall out like some fucking recruit.
Looking fit, mind you.
I transfered office, btw. Obviously the admin people think I'm shit around OTC, and my favourite encik, WO Ang, couldn't do anything about it. The new office has only one thing bad. It's on the second storey, which means I have to climb the stairs. Bad. Bad for the knees, actually. Till now its rather painful.
New office's guys are friendly, I have to say. First day I'm in, the officer in charge is already asking me not to call him sir --- inside the office premises. Outside no choice lah, cos have the other people who'd think its a chargeable offense not to greet your superiors properly. Good thing the guys treat each other as friends, and that's how they work hard meet deadlines on time, according to one of them.
It was good to be seeing the old pals; Mr R, Mr G and Mr L from the other office. I missed some people's ORD, like Alvin. General Siah, whose job Mr R took over, came back to get his pink IC the day I returned to camp on Thursday. We were still joking that the guys at CMPB lost his pink IC, so he can continue using his 11B for until they found the lost pink IC.
Which means, heh heh, extension of service.
Some news floated around, like Mr K, from the old office --- he's asking to extend his service so he can go for the Ranger Course. Asking for suicide, we say. Its good in a way, cos then he'll be right at home if we throw him out of the C130 into a the Amazon Jungle. But not many can make it out in one piece, make alone wear the Ranger badge.
Anyways, its bad that I'm no longer slacking good to be back in camp.
I met my match from hell the Insane Club.

The internet is coming back, slowly but surely. 2 days after the quake in Taiwan, speeds in Asia was only 40!
Poor thing.
Elva Hsiao broke her foot just when she's about to make a major comeback for her latest album 1087. In case for the mandarin pop degenerates, 1087, besides being her latest album, also stands for the number of days she has taken a break from the pop music scene.
Hope she gets well soon.
