In line with streamlining operations with my other main blogging pal, The Kodomut, I decided to shift over to Wordpress as well. Not that I don't like Blogger, infact, I loathe it so much, I wish Wordpress was around with its current user-friendliness when I contemplated moving 3 years ago after knowing the Cowboy Bar and their infatuation with Wordpress.

The new place (old blog) would still focus very much on my life, and perhaps a few cars' pictures, and a little shocking news on the intarwebs now and then, and....

Both American Idol finale contestants were rubbish.

Why do I say that? There are times when a good singer is on the speakers, and sometimes your skin just has goose bumps while they are singing. Some of them I had over the years became radio superstars --- which is all that matters if you want to win multiple awards.

But I had none this season!

While I admire Adam Lambert's performances over the weeks, they remain to me as so --- merely performances on the stage. He doesn't sing, IMO. He shouts over the mic, which is somehow miraculously interpreted as 'singing' by the judges. As the weeks wore on, the shouting got worse. Period.

Chris Allen came to the finale on pure hard work, as we can see from the 37th episode, when he sang his version of Kanye West's radio single. How can you go into a war without the most crucial weapon? Sure he improvised to a stage that opponents would have surely thought it was not a war, but a bagpipe blowing competition. He can sing, yes definitely, but he was too quick to narrowly identify himself as a Mraz-type (who's reason for success I still have no clue to), thus limiting the audiences' perspective of him as a "talent" for creating music, more than talent for singing.

Since one is "singing his face off", and the other's comfort zone is as far as his forefinger can extend, who can be qualified as the winner of American Idol Season 8?

I doubt its either of the finalists.

And who do I think is the winner?

Yes, I think Danny Gokey and Allison Iraheta will be first to hit platinium in their respective genres. And in this industry, does this matter?

SEOUL: Former US President Bill Clinton on Tuesday urged leaders of the world's cities, which produce over two-thirds of greenhouse gas emissions, to act swiftly to save the planet for their grandchildren.

Executives from the 40 largest cities plus 17 affiliate municipalities attended the C40 Large Cities Climate Summit which opened in Seoul, the third such event since 2005.

The former US leader, whose Clinton Climate Initiative develops programmes to help cities cut the emissions blamed for global warming, called for commitments and concrete action at the meeting which ends Thursday.

"You do not have the luxury of just debating what we are going to do and how much money we are going to spend on it," Clinton said in a keynote speech.

He warned that if the world fails to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 80 per cent by 2050, it would pay a high price in food shortages, drought and public health dangers.

"It is absolutely certain (that) if we let the worst happen, then the consequences will be so severe that we won't be able to save the planet for our grandchildren unless we are willing to undertake enormously expensive projects which can now be avoided," he said.

Half the world's population lived in cities last year and that figure is expected to grow to 70 per cent by 2050, said Clinton, citing UN statistics.

Cities occupy just 2 per cent of the world's land mass yet are responsible for more than two-thirds of global energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.

The issue of how cities "find a way to continue to thrive and prosper while reducing greenhouse gas emissions is one of the central questions in the whole struggle", Clinton told a press conference earlier.

He said his initiative focuses on creating "communities that can both provide a greater quality of life and generate more clean energy than they use".

Mayor David Miller of Toronto, who chairs this year's summit, said he was confident it could find balanced ways to combat climate change.

"We will be able to demonstrate not only how you can fight greenhouse gas emissions, but how you can also build green sustainable neighbourhoods, create green jobs and contribute back to the fight against climate change," Miller said.

"To continue the momentum, all cities must be resolute in working together. It's not a matter of choice but necessity," he added.

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-Hoon said the South Korean capital would develop a pilot residential and industrial district that would use 20 per cent less energy than the national average and cut carbon emissions by more than 40 per cent.

Oh said new technologies and renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic, solar and geothermal energy would be used to fulfil the commitment.

The weekend was exciting.

Yeah, sure, is exciting if you count getting into a ridiculous jam on the Second Link as exciting. A bus trip that would normally have taken 4 hours, stretched to 6 hours. If not for the newspaper I bought for some pleasure reading, I'd be pulling my hairs out when I saw the the queue 1km away from the Malaysian Checkpoint on the Second Link.



I took a nap, struggling to stay awake for fear of the 10+ people (of a certain other majority race in Malaysia) who might anytime come raid my bag for cash and the 5 pieces of underwear I brought along for change. Seriously, those pricks were the pain in the ass. They couldn't for a minute sit down quietly like civilised people in their own seats, instead choosing to share the business-class sized seats with their abangs. I know its a school trip whatsoever, and there's the fugly tudung chicks to impress. However their behavior hardly conveys them as a well-developed race/religion.

As I was sitting on the left side of the 1+2 configured coach, I was oblivious to the situation on the other side on the 3 lanes of the causeway. No pictures here because the fainted when I popped over to the other side of the bus to see how much better the traffic of cars were doing.

It looked like the entire Singapore was at the Malaysian side of the Tuas Checkpoint.

Seriously, what the fuck do they think they are doing. Do you like the idea of jams so much, that all of you have to go visit Malaysia on Labour Day morning?!

Bored from Straits Times, I took another nap. When I woke up we were another half kilometer from the immigration.



The malays infront weren't getting any fresh ideas with the malay ladies. No show to watch. Radio was getting boring, so I took another nap. Luckily I felt the bus moving to a halt and jumped off the bus to a new fight with the typical Singaporeans and their loves for queues at the immigration counter.

2 fucking hours of my life lost.
