I was due for an anaesthesia appointment at Alexandra Hospital today. Damn waking up late. By the time I reached Queenstown MRT station, the shuttle had already left. Lucky for the bastard...(wait...itsn't that me) the cab ride is rather affordable at around $3.50.
Despite the huge crowd of mostly elderlies, my turn came quite quickly. Makes you wonder, the more old they get, the more kiasu these patients are. Fancy coming 3 hours before your appointment, I think it'll be over my dead body before I come so early for my medicals.
The usual questions were asked by the anaesthesia doctor. What's my weight, am I alergic to anything, whatever lah. Then I was told to step outside to wait for the next nurse to administer the cost of the op. Also rather simplified matters, cos SAF is still paying for almost everything, except for the remaining 20% of the hospitalisation costs, which roughly works out to be $6-7 a day.
I met up with Abigail in the afternoon for lunch at Suntec. I regretted the moment I saw a civil defence private block off the overhead bridge entrace to the Convention hall from CitiLink. The whole place to more inaccessible than Area 51 lah,
thanks. I had to walk around the hall, test another route by walking up to Marina Centre, go through Pan Pacific Hotel, see like a dozen Carl's Jr outlets and Olio Domes before reaching Suntec Tower 5. Even then, I got apprehensive of the basement cos the barracades were worse than Kranji Camps. Took me like 20minutes to reach somewhere airconed. Blaaaady hell.
Apparently, it's volunteer work she is doing for the IMF thingy. "Hello. The exit is this way, have a nice day." and "I think the water point is downstairs. Take the escalator on your right." is a hefty $35 per day.
-_-"By volunteering to be a liason personel for the IMF, they also miss out on school, which adds up to alot of catching up if one takes a 10 day break. Oh heck. the money is good.
Met Mr Ng on the train on the way home. Sigh, where got teacher so dedicated one??? Go back to see whether his students are OK with their work and they hand them in on time even though he's really tired
from sleeping at work with the IMF setup. He's also going back partly to set the promotional maths papers. Mr Ng kena arrowed to work in the OPS room for the IMF, meaning his 100% attention and brain power is needed only when some riots take place (Kok said that, if wrong, pls
lub her). The IMF even put it nicely, saying he and Charles Goh are the outstanding elites in their field, or something like that, so their service is required for the next 3 weeks. Meanwhile, they don't have to report to school.
Yayness.

Shopping at Suntec has never been so empty, literally. I didn't bring my camera, if not I might have taken a picture with the CNA camera men and one of them police sergeants. Hurhur. It seems all the shoppers are replaced by men in blue. There're areally more military people than civilian people. Resisted the urge to stick my tougue out at the privates manning the gates around the perimeter. Bought Tao Ze's CD on the way back home at HMV in CitiLink. Even CitiLink is so deserted. I wanted to buy from Tower Records at Suntec, but they closed liao.
